Berglund attended Luther College and was named a UFA First Team All-Rookie member in 2023 after throwing 33 assists over 13 games on the defensive line. Sam suffered a right wrist injury early in 2024 which unfortunately sidelined him for the majority of the season. Despite the injury, he played an important role as a sideline leader and was voted the 2024 teammate of the year by the Wind Chill players. Berglund is considered to be one of the best pullers in the UFA.
