More Cowbell:
With an oversized cowbell in hand, Jaime DeClerck sends the tip soaring nearly 9 feet into the air with each fast-paced ring, signaling every Minnesota Wind Chill victory. But this tradition started on a much quieter scale back in 2016, when defender Dylan DeClerck first took the field during the team’s fourth year.
At Dylan’s first game, his dad, Jaime, noticed the small crowd and decided to bring a little extra energy. Despite cheering and shouting encouragement, he felt something was missing—so he picked up a few standard 2-inch cowbells. Over time, that small gesture grew into a full-fledged tradition. Jaime expanded his collection and began passing cowbells out to fans seated in “his” section at every game.
His wife, Michelle, plays an equally important role—quickly letting nearby fans know about Jaime’s enthusiasm and offering a friendly heads-up: if noise isn’t your thing, this may not be the section for you. It’s all part of ensuring everyone enjoys their game-day experience.

When the Fan Engagement Committee launched this year, they honored Jaime’s impact by creating “More Cowbell” signs featuring him in his signature spot, ringing proudly. They also established the official Cowbell Zone around his seat, clearly marked at each game, and introduced 200 blue cowbells for fans to use. Each bell is decorated with team logos and labeled inside with “Ring Loud and Proud, Return Me When Done” stickers, making it easy for everyone to join in throughout the season.
Bins are conveniently placed in the Cowbell Zone and at the entrance to the beer garden, allowing fans to borrow a bell for the night. For those who prefer a quieter experience, earplugs are available for $1 at the merchandise tent—ensuring respect for everyone.
After years of passionate ringing, Jaime’s original cowbell is now dented and worn, a testament to his dedication. Whether you hear the bells echoing through the stands or on the road—where Jaime travels to support the team—you’ll know he’s there and you’ll hear him on the UFA channel’s broadcast as he’s helping lead the Wind Chill as part of the “eighth man” in the stands.
