March 12, 2020
Wind Chill Fans and Supporters-
Following a call with the 22 AUDL teams and a dialogue with players and officials, the American Ultimate Disc League announced this evening that it will delay the start of the 2020 season. The 139 game season was scheduled to begin on April 4th.
With this announcement, the league and it's teams are beginning to explore the possibility of rescheduling all April games to later in the season, which includes our own matchup that is set to be hosted in Winnipeg on Saturday, April 18th, against the Montreal Royal.
The amount of support we've received from the Winnipeg community leading up to this event has been tremendous. While it is very possible we will need to reschedule the April 18th game amidst the concerns surrounding COVID-19, it remains a top priority for our organization to still bring a Wind Chill game to Winnipeg during the 2020 season. That commitment and desire is unwavering across our team ownership, our management, and our players.
All single game tickets that have been purchased for the April 18th game will be honored for the future game date if rescheduling is determined to be necessary. We will keep you updated regarding any changes to our approach, as we are continuing to navigate the evolving situation.
We unfortunately will be cancelling our Wind Chill in Winnipeg Youth Clinic scheduled for Saturday, March 21st, as the team will no longer be traveling to Winnipeg that weekend for practice. Full refunds for the Youth Clinic will processed in the next few days (back to the original method of payment used on our online store).
For those fans who have purchased tickets for the official fan bus travelling to Winnipeg from Minneapolis, we remain focused on continuing to offer that opportunity for the game, regardless of when it occurs. Deposits will be held until further notice, and those individuals can contact us directly with any questions.
We would like to thank you for your understanding and support during this challenging time, and send our best wishes to all families and communities who have been impacted by COVID-19.
Sincerely,
Ben Feldman
