The Minnesota Wind Chill are back at Sea Foam Stadium this Saturday, July 17 at 6:00pm. They will take on the Detroit Mechanix for the second time this season, as they look to build on a four-game win streak.
The Wind Chill are coming off a big double header weekend where they took on Indianapolis on Saturday followed by Chicago on Sunday. They won both games, pulling off the upset in Chicago and seizing first place in the Central Division. At 5-1, they’re well-positioned to make it back to the playoffs after a three-year postseason streak ended in 2019.
Their first meeting against Detroit resulted in a 29-17 Wind Chill victory, their highest scoring total of the season. Through the first six weeks of the season, the Wind Chill rank top five in points per game, offensive efficiency, completion percentage, and turnovers. A large part of their offensive success has come from the play of rookie handler Andrew Roy, who leads the league in completions with 388 and has been a go-to distributor on the Wind Chill offense.
