We are excited to announce the formation of the new coaching team for the Montreal Royal. Alexandre Lemieux will be the head coach, while Louis-Pierre Lauzon, Julie Tremblay and David Poirier will be the assistant coaches. Furthermore, we are also welcoming Caroline Cadotte as an assistant to the general manager, who will support our general manager Jean-Philippe Riopel.
The Montreal Royal team would like to thank Jon Hayduk and Isa Lemay who have been at the helm of the Royal for two seasons and have led the team to the title of Canadian cup champion of the AUDL in 2021. We wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.
Alexandre Lemieux started his ultimate career in Quebec with the TQ team and then with the junior provincial team Hydro. He played for the University of Ottawa from 2014 to 2017 and then for the University of Montreal in 2018 and 2019. A captain on several occasions, he started his coaching career in Basketball and Volleyball before moving to coaching ultimate in the Canadian university circuit (Ottawa U and McGill). The goal of the new coach is to help players grow in order to reach their full potential as athletes but more importantly, as humans.
With this combination of talent and experience, we are convinced that the Montreal Royal is in good hands for the upcoming season. Christophe Tremblay-Joncas says: "I am really excited to work with this new coaching staff. I am convinced that we will do great things together." On his part, Kevin Quinlan mentions: "Excited with the new coaching staff and the energy they are already bringing! Should make the royals 10th year anniversary even more special ."
The rookie camp will take place this Saturday, February 4th at 1 PM at the Centre multisports Joliette. Spectators are welcome to come and see the future talents of the Montreal Royal in action.
The season schedule will be available on February 6th, all home games will take place at the Claude Robillard sports complex. The 2023 season ticket presale ends on February 10th. The Royal is looking forward to welcoming you to our games this season!
