The Detroit Mechanix will play their final home game of the 2021 season this Saturday, August 21 at 6:00 PM/ET. The game will be played at South Christian High School. The Mechanix will take on the Chicago Union, as they look to avoid their fifth zero-win season in franchise history.
A loss to the Union would mark the 50th consecutive loss for the Mechanix. Their last win came against Chicago on April 29, 2017; they looked to be on the verge of bookending the streak with Chicago victories two weeks ago in Chicago, as they led the Union at half 9-6.
The Mechanix have lost each of their last four games by single digits, after losing by double digits in six of their seven games to start the season. One bright spot for the team has been the play of Mechanix rookie Bryan Walsh. Walsh is one of just five players in the league to have reached 5,000 total yards this season, accumulating 5,137 yards through 11 games. With 42 assists, he’s tied for fifth in the league and could push for the 2021 assist title with a strong performance in Week 12.
Tickets for this game are available at the official team store.
