Throughout the UFA season, there are typically dozens of noteworthy individual performances every week. But only seven special efforts can earn their way onto the weekly Honor Roll, highlighting the best of the best across the Association.
Players are listed alphabetically by last name.
Alex Atkins, New York Empire
Any preseason trepidation about how Alex Atkins might fit into the New York Empire system was apparently misplaced concern. Through four games, he’s leading the team in scores, total yards, and completions, anchoring an O-line that wasn’t exactly lacking talent before he arrived. In Saturday’s revenge victory over the Breeze, Atkins went 48-for-49, dealing four assists, catching two goals, and churning for a game-high 570 total yards, all of which came in less than ideal frisbee conditions. Overall, he’s averaging 638.5 total yards per game, the most in the league among players who’ve appeared in at least two games.
Lander Decraene, Boston Glory
The miserable rainy weather on Sunday in Boston compel me to overlook the miscues and include the older Decraene brother on the Honor Roll despite four throwaways. That’s because he also finished with six assists, one goal, and two blocks in the Glory’s 28-11 rout over the Phoenix. Lander Decraene helped Boston’s defense dominate to the tune of 19 breaks, the second-most we’ve seen by any team through the first month of the season. Additionally, through four games, Lander now has five goals, eight assists, and nine blocks, splendid all-around numbers for a D-liner making his UFA debut. Without a doubt, he’s firmly in the early conversation for both All-Rookie and All-Defense honors.
Khalif El-Salaam, San Diego Growlers
For just the third time in his 68 career UFA games, Khalif El-Salaam compiled a double-digit plus/minus, tallying plus-10 in San Diego’s 26-17 victory in Vegas. The 32-year-old produced season-highs with six goals and four assists, while also adding a block and churning for 473 receiving yards, the highest single-game total in his entire UFA career. Across the league, only six other players have registered a double-digit plus/minus performance through the first five weeks of the season. The Growlers have another huge game coming up this weekend at Oakland and could really use another big game from El-Salaam if they’re gonna seriously threaten the unbeaten Spiders.
Oscar Graff, Boston Glory
Prior to Sunday, Oscar Graff’s life on the D-line had led to him only scoring seven goals in his first 18 UFA regular season games. But then he matched that total in Boston’s 28-11 romp over Philadelphia, catching seven goals, tossing one assist, and delivering two blocks in the Glory’s relatively routine home win. Astonishingly, in a game that had 57 total total turnovers, Graff also went 38-for-38 passing, and his consistent completions resulted in him getting credit for five hockey assists too. Despite only playing four O-points in Boston’s first four games, he still leads the team with 10 hockey assists on the season.
Trevor Lynch, Carolina Flyers
While Saturday’s South Division rematch didn’t pack the same offensive electricity as the previous week, Carolina showed impressive resolve in their bounce-back win, keyed in part by Trevor Lynch’s return to the lineup. After a three-game absence, Lynch led the Flyers in total yards in Saturday’s 18-12 win over Atlanta, finishing with 379 total yards, three assists, one goal, and one block. He also completed 22-of-23 passes, the most completions he’s had in a game in almost two years.
Max Pettenuzzo, Toronto Rush
Toronto improved to 2-0 against Montreal and 3-1 on the season largely thanks to Max Pettenuzzo, who controlled the game with 741 total yards on Saturday against the Royal. That was more than 250 yards beyond the next highest individual performance in the game. Additionally, Pettenuzzo completed 45 passes with no throwaways, accumulating five assists, four more hockey assists, and one goal in the Rush’s five-goal road win. Remarkably, Toronto has already matched its 2025 win total, and with a big home game against the Breeze on tap this Friday, the Rush could take a huge step towards a 2026 playoff berth if Pettenuzzo can help carry the team to another victory this weekend.
Brandon Van Deusen, San Diego Growlers
Saturday in Vegas was easily Brandon Van Deusen’s best game as a Growler, as the talented handler finished plus-seven with 445 total yards against the Bighorns. The 26-year-old Van Deusen, who played with Chicago last year and Los Angeles for four seasons before that, completed all 35 of his throws and tallied three assists and three more hockey assists, along with two goals and two blocks. He also completed both of his huck attempts and now is 6-for-6 on hucks this season. Only DC’s Jacques Nissen and Austin’s Reese Bowman—who are both 7-for-7—have a 100 percent huck rate with more completions than Van Deusen.
