Throughout the 2023 season, the AUDL’s weekly honor roll will be revealed each Monday, honoring seven players whose individual exploits merit recognition. The players are listed alphabetically by last name.

Christian Boxley, DC Breeze (Pictured)

Five goals, three hockey assists, 303 receiving yards, and no turns on 23 throws. Just another solid night at the office for Christian Boxley, the dynamic cutter who also made a few highlight-reel skies in DC’s 22-15 win over Boston on Saturday evening. Before the season, members of the Breeze declared that hockey assists would be considered the most coveted stat, and Boxley leads his team and ranks ninth in the entire league with 28 hockey assists on the season.

Simon Carapella, Boston Glory

One of the many talented rookies that has helped pushed Boston to the brink of its first playoff appearance, Simon Carapella matched a franchise single-game record by scoring seven goals in Friday’s wild 21-20 win over Philadelphia. He followed that up with three more goals in DC on Saturday, and he went all weekend without a throwaway, completing 22 passes across the Glory’s 1-1 weekend. The 23-year-old Northeastern alum is currently tied for eighth in the AUDL with 33 goals on the season, and he’s second among rookies, only one behind Madison’s Anthony Gutowsky

Mark Evans, Austin Sol

Austin’s Aussie dished 10 assists and scored three goals during the Sol’s two-win weekend, completing six of his seven huck attempts in victories over Houston and Dallas. Mark Evans’ aggregate yardage across the two games also surpassed 1,000, with a balanced contribution of 529 receiving yards and 482 throwing yards. While Austin did not dominate in either game, the Sol still managed to improve to 8-0 against their Texas rivals this year, and at 9-3 overall, they clinched the two-seed and an opening round home game in the South Division playoffs.

Jordan Kerr, Salt Lake Shred

For the first time this season and his fifth time as a Shred standout, Jordan Kerr produced a double-digit plus/minus for Salt Lake, finishing plus-10 in Friday’s rout over hapless Portland. Though his one throwaway gave the Nitro their only break chance of the entire game, Kerr tallied seven assists and four goals in 19 points played, as the Shred remained undefeated, improving to 11-0 ahead of this weekend’s showdown against New York. For the season, Kerr sits in the top five in the AUDL in both goals and assists.

Ben Lewis, Houston Havoc

The Havoc fumbled away a feel-good road win when they ran out of gas in the fourth quarter on Friday night, but Ben Lewis’ performance was still scintillating, regardless of the ultimate outcome. The 30-year-old veteran, known mostly as a tenacious defender during his tenure with Dallas, produced a career-high eight goals and a career-high-tying four assists against the Sol this weekend. His 495 receiving yards were the most in the league in Week 11, and he also averaged over 26 yards per catch.

Colin Sunde, Boston Glory

In Boston’s must-win game over Philly on Friday night, Colin Sunde delivered the top performance of his AUDL career. The former Radical—he played two games for Madison in 2021—Sunde went 30-for-30 against the Phoenix, tossing for a team-high 417 yards in the Glory’s thrilling one-goal win. He also tallied a career-best four assists and completed all four of his hucks. He was certainly solid on Saturday too, throwing for 290 yards and three assists on 32 completions with one turn in the loss to the Breeze. Overall, he matched the seven assists he had in the first eight games this season during Boston’s critical two-game trip this past weekend.

Bryan Vohnoutka, Minnesota Wind Chill

Though listed last alphabetically, Bryan Vohnoutka’s masterpiece against Indianapolis on Sunday evening could be considered the premier individual effort of the weekend. Of course, he didn’t do it alone as the Wind Chill pounded the AlleyCats, but B-Von’s brilliance was on display all game long. Playing a mix of O and D, Vohnoutka delivered seven goals, two assists, one block, and a game-high 411 yards in Minnesota’s five-goal win, finishing plus-10 on the back of a 20-for-20 throwing performance. It was his first double-digit plus/minus since June 22, 2019, when he erupted for plus-14, also against the AlleyCats. With Saturday’s win, Vohnoutka’s Wind Chill are poised to secure a regular season division title and host the Central Division title game for the first time in franchise history.
