Throughout the 2023 season, the AUDL’s weekly honor roll will be revealed each Monday, honoring seven players whose individual exploits merit recognition. The players are listed alphabetically by last name.
Ty Barbieri, Toronto Rush
With seven goals, four assists, and just one turnover, Ty Barbieri put together his second straight game with a double-digit plus/minus, finishing plus-10 in the Rush’s narrow loss to the Glory. He also churned for 704 total yards, including 486 receiving yards, the fifth-highest single-game total all season. Through 10 weeks, Barbieri leads the AUDL with 39 goals, 23 of which he’s scored in his last four games.
Quinn Finer, Colorado Summit
In a pair of must-win games on the road, Colorado dominated to the tune of 42-25, with Quinn Finer leading the way. The 25-year-old cutter tallied seven goals and seven assists across the two games, with 54 completions and just two throwaways. Furthermore, he produced 925 total yards and connected on all five of his hucks. Throwing deep accurately and effectively has been an understatedly excellent aspect of Finer’s skillset throughout the past two seasons. In 25 games, including last year’s playoffs, he’s completed 40-of-51 hucks (78.4 percent). For perspective, no player in the league with at least 15 completed hucks this season has a success rate that matches Finer’s for his career.
Jonny Hoffman, Salt Lake Shred (Pictured)
One of the many dynamic defenders that have helped the Shred get to 10-0, Jonny Hoffman made his presence felt in both of Salt Lake’s SoCal victories over the weekend. On Friday against Los Angeles, the 22-year-old produced two goals, one assist, and three blocks in the Shred’s 20-18 win. One night later in San Diego, he collected three goals, one assist, and one block. He’s had at least one block in seven consecutive games, with multiple Ds in five of those contests.
Keegan North, Indianapolis AlleyCats
For the second straight week, the Madison Radicals had little answer for Keegan North and the Indy offense. The AlleyCats had just eight turns in 48 minutes in Saturday’s 23-17 victory, and North went a perfect 49-for-49, with five assists and four more hockey assists. He’s completed 99 passes with no throwaways over the past two weeks, helping the AlleyCats earn their seventh consecutive win. It’s the longest winning streak in Indianapolis AlleyCats history.
Ryan Osgar, New York Empire
The reigning MVP continues to bolster his case to potentially win the award for the second straight year. In his last three games, all against opponents with winning records, Ryan Osgar has 23 assists and four goals. On Friday against the Breeze, the Empire star was directly involved in 12 of the team’s 21 scores, finishing with eight assists, four goals, and a season-high plus-10. Although Osgar has not been quite as mistake-free as a year ago, he still has a completion rate of 95.9 percent for the season, higher than anyone else who’s among the top 20 in the league in assists.
Max Sheppard, Pittsburgh Thunderbirds
The only player in the league with a 300/300 game in Week 10, Max Sheppard complemented his 453 throwing yards and 329 receiving yards with 12 scores in Pittsburgh’s double-digit win over Detroit. Among the 108 games played across the AUDL so far this season, there have only been eight instances where a player tallied 300/300 and won, and Shep’s the only dude who’s done it twice. He finished Friday with seven assists and five goals, the seventh time in his career he’s registered at least a dozen scores in a game.
Ray Tetreault, Boston Glory
In a week where visiting teams went 6-4, Boston’s victory in Toronto might have been the most impressive road result, as the shorthanded Glory had arguably their best offensive performance in franchise history on Saturday against the Rush. The ever-steady Ray Tetreault made countless big plays in the downfield space, finishing with 424 receiving yards on just 23 catches, going for five goals, four assists, and a block in Boston’s 24-21 triumph. Since joining the Glory late in the 2021 season, the unheralded Tetreault has played in 25 of Boston’s last 26 games, becoming the team’s most consistent and reliable O-line playmaker over the past couple seasons.
