Chicago Union Host Minnesota Wind Chill for UFA Central Division Championship

CHICAGO—The #1 seeded Chicago Union host the UFA Central Division Championship against #2 seeded Minnesota Wind Chill at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium on Saturday, August 9th at 6 P.M. CST. This matchup features two of the UFA's powerhouse teams, as the Union attempt to carry their win streak into the postseason and cap off a storied 2025 season with a championship!
A win over Minnesota would also mark the 100th win in franchise history for Chicago, which illustrates the long term success and winning culture within the Union organization.
Minnesota comes into this game with revenge on their mind, looking to avenge two regular season losses to Chicago. Wind Chill standouts William Brandt and Greg Cousins had strong outings for Minnesota in their first round playoff matchup against Madison, with Brandt tallying 424 total yards, three assists, three hockey assists, and two goals, along with Cousins' five-goal performance. While the Union have had the Wind Chill's number so far this year, they don’t underestimate this dangerous opponent, who is the defending UFA Champion.
Look for co-head coaches Dave Woods and Charlie Furse to keep Chicago level-headed going into their divisional championship, with the primary focus on the defensive side of the disc, which has been their winning formula this entire season. The Union showed off an elite defensive line this season, and was one of the best teams in UFA history at generating stops and converting offensively off of opposing teams' turnovers. With leaders like Jack Shanahan and Ben Priess now paired with high-flying talent such as Daan De Marrée and Nate Goff, Chicago is primed to make a statement on Saturday evening.
