Radicals Return Home to Host the Mechanix

June 24, 2021

The Madison Radicals will return to Breese Stevens Field this Sunday, June 27 at 5:00pm. They’ll take on the Detroit Mechanix in their second meeting of the season; the Radicals defeated the Mechanix 34-10 in Week 1 on the road.

The Radicals are 2-2 through the first three weeks of the season, splitting their games this past weekend with a loss at Minnesota followed by a big home win over Indianapolis on Sunday. The 24-point victory over Detroit is the largest margin of victory the league has seen this season, with the 34 goals also setting a 2021 league high. In the Week 1 game, Radicals captain Kevin Pettit-Scantling put on the most dominant performance of the season, scoring four goals, throwing five assists, and recording six blocks. Pettit-Scantling currently leads the league in blocks, with 10.

With one of the best home crowds in ultimate, Radicals fans will be out in full force again this Sunday for Educators Appreciation Night; all educators will be granted free admission and be honored during the game. The Radicals set a home-opener attendance record in Week 1, as over 1,300 fans showed up to cheer on their team for the first time in nearly 700 days.
