Christian Johnson grew up and began playing ultimate in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He played for UNC as an undergraduate, helping lead the team to their first national title game in 2014. Christian then went to UC Santa Cruz to get his PhD in physics, playing ultimate in the Bay Area for a number of years, including for the AUDL's San Jose Spiders and San Francisco Flamethrowers. After graduating, he moved to Washington, DC and played for the local club team Truck Stop before making his way to Chicago to join the Union.
