A central part of the 2025 Championship Weekend event, the first-ever PUL versus WUL All-Star Game is set to showcase some of the brightest stars in the sport. Headlined by 2025 MVPs Kaela Helton (WUL) and Jolie Krebs (PUL), both rosters were determined through a combination of fan voting as well as team nominations, with the final lineups representing the best-of-the-best in both leagues. Opening pull is set for 5:00 PM/ET at Breese Stevens Field.
Starting with Helton, the recent World Games competitor returned from China earlier this month with her second gold medal with Team USA. Helton is an impact player at every level of the game, but she is truly a generational talent as a precision passer, playmaker, and field general on offense. The three-time MVP went supernova during San Diego’s playoff run towards a pro title in 2025, and while her counting stats and production are gaudy as a do-everything QB1, Helton’s zero drops for the entire season exemplifies her legendary focus as a big game winner. There’s a verve to Helton’s game that would be frenetic for virtually every other player on the planet, and yet with her it is nothing but calibrated coolness.
Similar to Helton, Krebs’ skyrocketing talent and vision as a thrower largely derives from the incredible pace of her play. Most defenders simply cannot match Krebs’ combination of footspeed and stamina, and as a result the 2025 PUL MVP gets a lot of open looks. Like a rhythm shooter in basketball, once Krebs sets her feet and selects a receiving target, beating defenses mostly just becomes a matter of which throw she wants to choose from her deep arsenal. And with a bouquet of all-star receivers to choose from, Krebs should be in rhythm all afternoon long.
The last time an all-star frisbee event was held at Breese Stevens Field, it was an offensive shootout that went to double overtime. Saturday’s PUL-WUL tilt could have a similar flourish at the finish.
