Friction Gloves has been named as the official glove of the American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL) through the 2024 season. Friction was established in 2012 and introduced gloves to the sport of ultimate. Founder Chris “Hanky” Hancock has played elite ultimate since 2008, including as part of the Portland Nitro’s inaugural season in 2022.
“Players throughout the AUDL look to Friction as the best gloves in our sport,” said AUDL CEO Steve Hall. “Whether it’s wet, cold or hot, we need the most reliable and durable equipment out there. Partnering with Friction gives us the ability to ensure this standard for every game.”
Friction Gloves include features to provide greater accuracy in throws and confidence across a range of catches. The gloves have reinforced palms, double stitching, and 4-way stretch in the thumb area to help with the rigors of the sport. Friction Gloves also provides custom gloves and color options for teams and tournaments, including screen printed and spot sublimation designs, as well as disc golf gloves.

The 2023 AUDL regular season starts in April and concludes in July with teams playing six home and six road games over 13 weeks. The top three seeds in each of the four divisions (East, South, Central and West) will compete in the playoffs for a chance to win the 2023 AUDL Championship.
