Throughout the 2019 season, the AUDL’s weekly honor roll will be revealed each Monday, honoring seven players whose individual exploits merit recognition. The players are listed alphabetically by last name.
- Travis Carpenter, Indianapolis AlleyCats — With six assists, a block, and 46 completions in 47 attempts, Travis Carpenter’s steadiness and reliability were critical amidst the raw, chilly conditions that produced just 24 goals in 48 minutes on Saturday in Minnesota. Obviously, the most important statistic is winning, and Carpenter’s Indianapolis AlleyCats rewrote the Midwest narrative again, securing a 13-11 road triumph a week after Indy lost to Atlanta at home and Minnesota registered its biggest win ever at Madison.
- Peter Graffy, Madison Radicals — The Madison Radicals are clearly a different team with and without the 28-year-old Peter Graffy, a fact emphasized by Madison’s performance the past two weeks. After falling at home to Minnesota without Graffy in the lineup, Madison bounced back in Chicago with a statement win, as Graffy contributed four goals, four assists, and one block in the Radicals’ 25-22 triumph.
- Bobby Ley, Raleigh Flyers — In his first game with his new team, Bobby Ley led the Raleigh Flyers with 53 completions, working with Eric Taylor in the O-line backfield to help the Flyers surpass the Hustle 25-22. The former Cannon recorded four goals and four assists in his Raleigh debut, assimilating quickly and seamlessly into the Flyers’ system.
- Karl Loiseau, Ottawa Outlaws — Considering that the Ottawa Outlaws travel to New York next week, Ottawa likely would have been winless heading into June if not for Karl Loiseau’s all-around clutch performance on Saturday against the Breeze. Loiseau completed all 40 of his throws, caught two goals, and dished five assists, including the game-winning hammer to Greg Ellis in double overtime. Earlier on the game’s culminating point, Loiseau’s hustle and presence chasing after DC’s Leo Pierson prevented the Breeze from scoring the deciding goal first, keeping Ottawa alive and enabling the offensive heroics about 45 seconds later.
- Sean Mott, Philadelphia Phoenix — In the franchise’s biggest win since being reincarnated as the Philadelphia Phoenix, Sean Mott dished six assists, scored one goal, and led his team in playing time as Philly edged Toronto 18-16, the Phoenix’s first ever win over the Rush after losing the previous 13 meetings. The landmark win for Philly, which reestablishes the Phoenix as a playoff contender in the East Division, was also the 14th time in Mott’s 51 career AUDL games that he dished at least five assists.
- Tim Okita, San Diego Growlers — Though the Spiders did not put up much defensive resistance—the San Diego Growlers completed 315 of 320 passes, a 98.4 percent clip—Tim Okita’s distributing led the way as the Growlers improved to 6-1 in the West. By going 44-for-44 with five assists on Friday night, Okita elevated his season-long precision to 194-of-196 in five games. In his last two games, the almost-25-year-old Okita has completed all 91 of his throws in a pair of San Diego victories.
- Bradley Seuntjens, Tampa Bay Cannons — In Saturday’s victory over Austin, which happened to be the 50th regular season game of his AUDL career, Bradley Seuntjens had far and away his best performance ever. With five goals, three assists, three blocks, and one throwaway, the 26-year-old finished +10 in the Tampa Bay Cannons’ overtime victory. Previously, Seuntjens had finished better than +5 just once in his career, a +7 in a lopsided win over Nashville in April of 2016. The numbers were much more meaningful on Saturday, as his all-around effort helped Tampa secure a split in their two-game Texas trip, keeping the Cannons in third place in the South Division.
