Reigning league MVP Rowan McDonnell and Kevin Pettit-Scantling were named the 2019 AUDL All-Star Game captains. The two players will convene for a live captains draft on Wednesday, June 5 on Facebook. A general all-star player pool will be formed over the next two days, selected from coaches around the league. Team KPS and Team Rowan will then be chosen using the nominated players.
The 2019 AUDL All-Star Game will take place on Satuday, June 8 in Madison, WI. The game will be broadcast live on Stadium starting at 8:00 PM/ET.
McDonnell is in MVP form once again in 2019 as the AUDL's most lethal offensive player. He leads the league through eight weeks of play with 35 goals, and is third overall in assists with 31 while completing near 30 passes a game at a 94.10 percent clip. Despite heavy personnel losses over the offseason, the DC Breeze have the inside track on the third and final playoff spot in the East Division through the first two months of the regular season.
After making his first All-AUDL team in 2018, Pettit-Scantling is still improving as defensive captain of the reigning champion Madison Radicals. He's sixth in the league in takeaways with 11 through six games; Pettit-Scantling is fifth in blocks per game at 2.20. Despite the competition being the best ever in the division, the Radicals once again find themselves atop the Midwest.
