Thunderbirds and Jersey Mike's Subs Announce Partnership

PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Thunderbirds and Jersey Mike’s Subs of Allison Park, Pennsylvania, have agreed to a partnership throughout the 2021 AUDL Season. Located at 4848 Route 8, the Jersey Mike’s Sub store is run by Franchisee, and ultimate player, Raley Parker.

Jersey Mike’s is a brand that believes in the value of ingredients, in the virtue of intention, and in the idea that making a sub sandwich and making a difference can be one and the same. The concept goes beyond sandwiches: A little added effort, a splash of extra and unexpected, elevates everything. They take the time to know your name. When Parker asks, “How can we help?” he means it. “We are in the people business, and we serve amazing food,” Parker said.

Parker started playing ultimate his final semester at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga back in the spring of 2000. He joined the club team and had one amazing semester. He ended up leaving town for a few years with a traveling job and when he returned, the team had fallen apart.

Now working as an employee of the university, he helped restart the program in 2002 and it’s been going strong ever since! While coaching college ultimate and playing on the club scene, his love for ultimate continued to grow. He started a high school team and coached them for seven years. As he got older, he played on the Master's scene making trips to the national tournament with both Ball and Chain and Chesapeaked.

Now, Parker has the occasional Frisbee throw in the yard with his kids, awaiting the return of ultimate.

The Thunderbirds will work with Jersey Mike’s Subs of Allison Park to coordinate mobile ordering during games for fans, community building, and several digital activations. “I'm also looking forward to supporting the team, the program and the league,” Parker said. “I want us to be a part of supporting the sport in our community so that it will be around for many years to come.”

Next time you’re in the area, please stop by and say hello to Raley Parker and tell him the Thunderbirds sent you.
