Turning Tickets Into Community Support: The 'Birds Give Back' Program

Pittsburgh, PA - The Pittsburgh Thunderbirds are proud to bring back their existing fundraising initiative designed specifically for local 501(c)3 organizations. As Pittsburgh’s professional Ultimate Frisbee team enters its 11th season, the Thunderbirds are committed to using their platform to support causes that make a real impact in Western Pennsylvania. This program creates a simple, rewarding way for non-profits to raise money while giving their supporters a fun and memorable night out in one of the city’s premier sports venues, Highmark Stadium.

Non-profits have the opportunity to utilize Thunderbirds group ticketing with a guaranteed donation back to the participating organization. Non-profits can sign up at no cost and immediately receive access to a personalized ticket landing page and link that is easy to promote across social media, newsletters, email campaigns, and community networks. Every ticket purchased through that custom link automatically generates a built-in donation for the organization, allowing supporters to directly contribute simply by attending and enjoying a Thunderbirds home game.

The Thunderbirds also provide opportunities for participating organizations to receive visibility inside Highmark Stadium on game days. Depending on availability and the level of participation, charities may receive shoutouts over the stadium PA system, scoreboard placement, or even in-game promotional moments that highlight their mission.

Any 501(c)3 organization interested in participating can reach out to General Manager Andrew Gardner (agardner@pghthunderbirds.com) to get started. Once enrolled, they’ll receive everything needed to begin promoting their fundraiser.
