The Pittsburgh Thunderbirds have announced the hiring of a new Director of Youth Development, Breann Ford.
Ford attended Hampton University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree of Science and Marketing, primarily studying Business Marketing. Her love for sports and children, combined with her sales leadership background, makes her an ideal hire for the Thunderbirds organization.
Currently, Ford also serves as a cultural liaison for Melting Pot Ministries, a grass-roots organization with strong ties to both the faith community and the underserved families of the South Hills.
As a liaison, Ford works between the organization and the local school districs to ensure students are receiving equitable education and opportunity.
Previously, Ford spent 7 years working for AT&T as a retail sales manager, supervising a team of 10 to a best-in-class results on their annual audit reports 3 years in a row.
Now she takes on a new role in the sports industry with the Thunderbirds.
“I am thrilled to work with an organization that brings both my passion and purpose together,” Ford writes.
In her free time, Ford enjoys spending as much time as she can with her two kids, Cortlyn, age 4, and Ari, age 2.
Ford writes, “We enjoy almost any outdoor adventure, but our favorites are definitely riding bikes and going to the park. Outside of time with my children, my favorites pastimes are traveling and meeting new people!”
The Thunderbirds are excited to have Ford work on furthering their mission to grow interest in Ultimate Disc in the Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania regions and encourage participation in the sport through community involvement.
Ford will be tasked with the improvement of visibility of the sport in the region and the promotion of youth participation in recreational and competitive environments.
