Dear James,
From all of us in the Philadelphia Phoenix organization, we want you to know how much you have meant to our franchise. I am not going to write about your stats because Hotbird Nation and the rest of ultimate fandom will be able to read about those in every other announcement that comes out over the next few days. I will sum up the greater you instead.
The depth of your dedication to every single aspect of our mission and vision in these formative years has been simply incredible. From highlight plays on the field to starring in commercials to being the first one there and the last one to leave to coaching budding ultimate players from all walks of life, you have made your mark on not just ultimate frisbee, but all of Philadelphia sports. Thank you for having represented us so well.
I will personally sorely miss our conversations, your good-naturedness, sincerity, and kind smile, your wonderful family, on-field intensity, and even always having to wear heels to be able to talk to you! But, as we always say, once a Hotbird, always a Hotbird. So it's not goodbye but rather see you later.
We wish you the best of luck in Minnesota, the Wind Chill are getting not just an elite athlete but an all-around great person. It’s been a pleasure.
With warmest regards,
Christina
