The Philadelphia Phoenix announce the return of coaches David Hampson and Nate Venditta for the 2020 season. Hampson will continue in the role of Head Coach; as a former Phoenix player 2020 will be his fifth combined year with the Phoenix, third as a coach. Marking his third year with the Phoenix, Venditta continues as Assistant Coach. The pair bring their strengths together forming a well-balanced coaching team. Hampson leads offensive strategy and coaching, while Venditta heads up the defense.
Going into their third year working together on the Phoenix, it's evident the partnership has been a successful one. In May of last year they lead the Phoenix in a landmark victory, defeating the Toronto Rush for the first time in team history. The duo followed up with a second win against the Rush in Toronto in June, becoming the first team in AUDL history to sweep the Rush in regular season games. With the AUDL realignment and divisional shake ups, the pair are looking forward to competing in the Atlantic Division and are already at work developing strategies to take on their new competitors.
The Philadelphia Phoenix host their 2020 Open Combine on Sunday, January 12th, 6-10pm at the Penn Park bubble. Find full info and registration here.
