PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Philadelphia Phoenix announce the departure of Head Coach David Brandolph. Tapped to join the Phoenix coaching lineup for the 2025 season, Brandolph brought with him knowledge and experience as a former Phoenix and UFA player. His unique skill set was influential to a Phoenix squad stacked with new and young players, many in their first year with the Phoenix or the UFA, leading them to one of the best season performances seen in recent years with a near playoff berth.
“I would like to thank Coach Brandolph for stepping up to coach the Phoenix this year,” said Philadelphia Phoenix Vice President, Jeff George. “He is a true player’s coach. David led the team by deeply respecting and trusting every player. His own confidence rubbed off on the players – the 2025 team had no fear. His steadfast belief in every player was admirable and will not be forgotten.”
“I’ve had a tremendous experience coaching the Phoenix,” said Brandolph, reflecting on the season. “I want to thank Jeff and Christina for the opportunity and support, as well as my assistant coaches who truly were co-head coaches alongside me. The players are what made the experience truly special. It has been a privilege to coach this group of players. They believed they were ready for the moment and defied the odds, taking a giant step in the right direction for the future of the Phoenix. Lastly, thank you to the fans. The Phoenix have the most passionate and knowledgeable fan base in ultimate, stretching back to when I played in 2013 – My heart will always be with the Phoenix, and now I get to be a fan. Thank you.”
The Philadelphia Phoenix express their gratitude to Coach Brandolph for his guidance and dedication to the Phoenix organization, both as a former player and coach.
