Owen grew up in Huntington Beach California and started playing ultimate around the same time he learned to walk. A former Los Angeles Aviators water boy from 2015-2018 and assistant coach in 2019, his playing experience involves playing for the U-20 mixed team Powerline in 2018 at 15 years old and winning a national championship at YCC’s, and the following year playing for the U-17 Oakland Spark. He took time away from ultimate from 2020 to 2024 for volleyball, and in that time he would go on to be a part of two CCCAA State Championships at Orange Coast College.
