After more than 600 days without playing a game, the Los Angeles Aviators of the American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL) will return to the field this summer. The 2021 AUDL schedule has officially been announced; the Aviators will play a 12-game regular season from June to August, with the potential for playoff games in September. Home opener is scheduled for Saturday, June 5 against the San Diego Growers.
The Aviators enter the 2021 season playing in the new West Division following the AUDL’s 2020 divisional realignment. They will compete against Austin, Dallas, San Diego, San Jose and Seattle for two playoff spots.
The Aviators are coming off their fourth consecutive playoff appearance and will look to make it back to Championship Weekend for the first time since 2018. Headlining this year’s roster is 20-year-old Danny Landesman, who scored 32 goals as a 18-year-old rookie in 2019. His father, Jeff Landesman, will enter his first season as head coach. The Landesmans are the lone coach-coach’s-son combo in the league.
