LA Aviators Pull Off Upset Over Colorado

The Los Angeles Aviators traveled up to Colorado and took down the Summit 22-21 this past weekend, eliminating the reigning West Division champions in the first round of the playoffs.

DC Breeze Hold Strong at Home

The DC Breeze took down Boston 19-12 this past weekend in the first round of the playoffs, advancing to the East Division Championship Game for the second straight season. Including the 2021 season which featured the one-hit-wonder "Atlantic Division," DC has now made it to the quarterfinals each of the past three seasons, but has still yet to make it to their first Championship Weekend. The Breeze will have another shot against the New York Empire next Saturday, August 12 at 7:00 PM/ET in the East Division Championship Game.

AlleyCats Knock Off Chicago

The Indianapolis AlleyCats defeated the Chicago Union 23-15 in the first round of the playoffs this past weekend, eliminating the two-time reigning Central Division champions from the postseason. With their first playoff win since 2019, the AlleyCats advance to face the Minnesota Wind Chill in Minnesota on Saturday, August 12 at 6:00 PM/CT in the Central Division Championship Game.

When the clock struck zero on Colorado’s season and the Los Angeles players joyously celebrated on the Summit’s home field, Aviators Coach Jeff Landesman struggled to fully cherish the moment.

“I’ve got a lot of mixed emotions right now,” he said, speaking to me about 15 minutes after the final buzzer.
