After an hour-long rain delay, the Hustle came away with an important 25-19 road win over the Carolina Flyers. The wet conditions on the field caused slips and slides, but it did not faze the Hustle’s efforts in the victory. It was a tight game in the beginning, with both sides trading scores throughout the first half. The Hustle took a one score lead (10-9) into halftime and came out strong in the second half, pushing that lead to 6 by the end of the game.
Brett Hulsmeyer had a massive game on offense with 470 total yards and 6 assists, including a highlight catch over 3 defenders that led to a score. Matt Smith and Christian Olsen totaled 5 goals each for the Hustle. Justin Burnett continued to make his impact felt on both offense and defense, putting up 2 blocks, 2 goals and 2 assists in the game.
The Hustle will return home for the final regular season matchup against the Carolina Flyers on July 22nd. With the one seed locked up, the Hustle will host a playoff game on August 11th that will determine who will move on to Championship Weekend. The opponent will be the winner of Carolina and Austin in their playoff matchup on July 29th.
