2026 (Belated) Season Preview
By Avery Martin
Glory started their title defense with a 21-16 win over the DC Breeze on April 25th at Hormel behind a full team effort and some eye-popping plays from the reigning MVP, Tobe Decraene.
Boston has injected talent into a lineup that took home a championship last season. This is everything you need to know as Glory tries to repeat as UFA champions.
Reigning MVP Tobe Decreane
Decraene took home MVP honors last year after posting a historic statistical season. He led the league in total scores with 91, that’s points and assists combined. He also had the most receiving yards in the league last season.
“He’s an extremely versatile player. He can throw it, he can cut, he can go up in the air and get it and he plays defense. He does everything above average which makes him very difficult to line up against,” said Glory head coach Sam Rosenthal.
Even more impressive, he took his level of play up a notch in the playoffs; he had 25 total scores across three playoff games. Nine of those were assists that came in one game against the Salt Lake Shred, a Glory playoff single-game record.
New Additions
Glory added both veteran and rookie talent this offseason to a roster that won the UFA championship.
Former league MVP Rowan McDonnell came from the DC Breeze after playing all nine seasons of his career there. Last season, he had 62 total scores for the Breeze. He adds a good veteran presence and will move the frisbee at a high level as he led the Breeze in assists last season.
His teammate from last year, Thomas Edmonds, also joins Boston this season. The former D.C Breeze player posted 38 total scores last season; he had the third most goals on the Breeze.
“I want to inject a hunger,” said Edmonds. “I want to take the easy throws or make the hard throws easy, I want to be a release valve and slot in where the coaching staff and captains want me to play.”
Lander Decreane is the brother of last year's league MVP Tobe Decreane. He has big expectations for his rookie season and was a big-name signing for Glory. Lander is a European champion and a two-time silver medalist for the U24 Belgian National Team. He will be a difference-maker for Glory who can play anywhere on the field.
Franky Fernandez and Kai DeLorenzo also join Glory from Atlanta and Madison, respectively. The two will bring additional defensive intensity to a unit that already has plenty of it.
Max Coe is a rookie many may not have heard of, that is because he is still in high school. The Lexington High School senior is on the US U20 National Team and made a scintillating block in his debut.
All of these are just words, though. The only way to know how the season will go will be to watch it unfold at Hormel Stadium and on WatchUFA.tv.
