This past Saturday’s game at Breese Stevens Field featured multiple storylines and ended with the Radicals winning 21-20 over the Pittsburgh Thunderbirds, putting Madison at 6-4 on the year. 

Path to the Playoffs: Pittsburgh Thunderbirds Edition

The 2024 Central Division in the Ultimate Frisbee Association (UFA) has been, for the most part, consistently inconsistent. Fans have been commenting on the unpredictable nature of the division for weeks. With 8 of the 12 UFA Playoff spots clinched, the Central still has 2 spots up for grabs. Below we analyze what the Pittsburgh Thunderbirds have to do in order to secure a post-season spot.

It’s the third time around for the Chicago Union and Minnesota Wind Chill this season in this week’s UFA’s Game of the Week. This Saturday, on July 6, Minnesota hosts the Union at Sea Foam Stadium in an attempt to go for a season sweep of the Union.

Hotbird Huck: Carolina Flyers

The Philadelphia Phoenix (4-6) travel south to take on the Carolina Flyers (7-2) for the Hotbird’s final road game of the season. After starting the season 1-6, Philadelphia has started to find its legs, winning three in a row. Carolina has mirrored Philly’s performance, starting a commanding 7-0 before back-to-back losses dropped them to second place in the division.

The start of the home stretch has begun for the Madison Radicals. This weekend, on July 6, the Radicals will host the Pittsburgh Thunderbirds at Breese Stevens Field for their first of a three- game home stand to conclude the season.
