Today the Raleigh Flyers announced the signing of standout defender Jakeem Polk for the 2018 season. In 28 career games over two seasons, Polk has collected 44 goals and 19 blocks while playing for the Express and Cannons. Polk will join an already stout Flyers defensive unit that allowed just 21.3 goals per game in 2017—the fifth fewest in the AUDL—on their way to the regular season division title.

Introducing the 2017 AUDL awards. With the 2017 MVP Jonathan Nethercutt already announced, it is time to unveil the league and divisional recipients who were recognized for their outstanding play during the 2017 campaign.

The Steel Spirit Award is given to 73 players that competed in all of their team's 14 regular season games during the 2017 regular season. The honor is meant to distinguish those who showed diligent commitment — win or lose — that is the true mark of a professional.
