Metro Transit is a leading transportation resource for the Twin Cities, offering an integrated network of buses and light rail, microtransit, as well as resources for those who carpool, vanpool, walk, or bike. In 2024, they provided more than 47 million rides across the Twin Cities region. Metro Transit is guided by a Strategic Framework, Metro Transit Forward, that describes their vision and mission, strategic priorities, and the ways they'll measure their success moving forward. Metro Transit Forward combines and builds upon efforts like the Safety & Security Action Plan, Network Now, and the buildout of their METRO network.   Metro Transit is an operating division of the Metropolitan Council, the regional policy-making body, planning agency, and provider of essential services in the seven-county Twin Cities metro area.
