The Ultimate Frisbee Association (UFA) has introduced the new “Ultimate Frisbee 1-2-3” turnkey resource for youth educators to teach and grow the sport of ultimate frisbee. “Ultimate Frisbee 1-2-3” is an easy and comprehensive kit featuring equipment and curriculum designed to introduce fundamental and development skills for girls and boys in grades 6-8 and to support Title IX physical education needs for schools.
“Ultimate Frisbee 1-2-3” contains 10 Professional Ultimate Frisbees, 25 plastic cones, 24 pinnies in four different colors, and a comprehensive teaching curriculum featuring setup, drills and games designed to introduce the sport to youth and build a foundation for full field games. The curriculum also contains a link to UFA’s media platform which has videos for some of the basic mechanics and drills and will be a regularly updated resource for Continuing Education.
The kit was designed in conjunction with UltiF Innovations, manufacturer of the Professional Ultimate Frisbee, the official disc of the UFA. Teacher, exercise scientist and kinesiologist Paige Carver, as well as UFA All-Star and Atlanta Hustle player Matt Smith, created the curriculum with a priority on teaching efficacy, player development and flexibility for all teachers, coaches and educators.
The “Ultimate Frisbee 1-2-3” kit can be purchased through the UFA Shop for $399, a significant value for an all-in-one resource that can scale for hundreds of players. The product also includes a 1-year subscription to watchUFA.tv, the exclusive streaming platform for all UFA games—a $90 value.
The UFA is committed to growing ultimate by showcasing its 155 event season and through increased youth participation, sustainable player development, and access for individuals of all backgrounds. By working with the “Ultimate 1-2-3” resource, educators now have access to a convenient, simple and comprehensive method for creating the future of ultimate frisbee.
This resource is just the first step in teaching youth about ultimate frisbee. The league and its teams are dedicated to offering more clinics, camps and academies to further develop youth, https://watchufa.com/league/youth. As schools build intramural and inter-school teams for competitive play, the UFA strongly encourages teachers to seek out their Local Disc Organization, https://usaultimate.org/local/, to create leagues and travel teams.
