Today the AUDL, in conjunction with our Covid-19 task force, sent emails to all AUDL players and staff that outlined our return to training and return to practice guidelines. The email refers to two types of training: Team Strength & Conditioning Workouts and Official Team Practices (OTP). Strength & Conditioning Workouts are when two or more people come together for a workout and all participants are at least six feet apart (socially distanced) the entire time. Official Team Practices are when two or more people come together and may be within six feet at any time.
Players and staff must complete a two-step process to return to Strength & Conditioning and a four-step process for Official Team Practices.
The four-step process for all involved personnel includes:
-
Signing the COVID Responsibility Agreement and Liability Waiver
-
Completing the COVID History Questionnaire and Medical History Questionnaire, which will only be viewed by the team’s Athletic Care Network (i.e. Health and Safety Manager, Athletic Trainer and/or Team Physician)
-
Completing the COVID Exposure Screening Questionnaire before each OTP, as well as future team activities
-
Having temperature checked by the attending medical person on site
We continue to remind teams and players that they must adhere to all their local and national guidelines when returning to training. The AUDL will not yet allow teams to hold Official Team Practices, but teams could start Team Strength & Conditioning workouts as soon as next week.
The league has not formalized a return to play format or date at this time, but continues to work toward creating a shortened season, or tournament format, for later this summer or fall.
