FAQs

Why Davenport?
Davenport recently launched the most significant ultimate disc scholarship program in the nation. Athletes selected to Davenport's men's and women's teams will receive varsity-level treatment and are eligible for athletic scholarships. We believe this represents an important step in the development of ultimate as a sport and aligns with our aim of making the sport more accessible to all groups. Their enthusiasm for the sport and institutional support have made them a logical choice for partnership in this exciting new endeavor.

When is drop-off and pick-up?
Dropoff at Davenport runs from 2-4pm EST on July 14th, 2024. Pick up is from 2pm-4pm on Friday, July 19th. If your child is flying in, the closest airport is Gerald Ford International (GRR) which is less than 10 minutes from the Davenport campus. Please plan for your incoming flights to arrive after lunch.

What skill level does my child need to be to attend?
While there is no hard and fast rule we recommend your child have played at least two years of organized ultimate and is roughly a “YCC” level player. If you have further questions or concerns on whether this is the right fit for your child please contact camp director Matt Smith (matt.smith@watchufa.com)

What ages may attend this camp?
This camp is meant for ages 15-18 (or rising high school sophomores through rising college freshman). If you have a child outside this age range who is interested in attending please reach out and we will see what we can do.

Are there scholarships available?
Yes, we offer scholarships for those in need of financial assistance. Please reach out to camp director Matt Smith (matt.smith@theaudl.com) for more information.

Will game play be mixed or single gender?
We will incorporate both types of play throughout the camp as we believe both are important for skill development. Hopefully, we will have at least 15-20 FMP and MMPs each so we have the option of scrimmaging separately as well.

Why is the girls admission price lower than the boys?
We believe girls in ultimate are an underrepresented demographic and we want to encourage participation in the camp and sport by offering it at a lower price point. Additionally, 20 spots at camp will be reserved for girls until 2 months before camp begins.

Additional questions?
All questions can be sent to camp director Matt Smith (matt.smith@watchufa.com).
